Welcome to Portals Projects! Each week we share projects that foster community building, creative thinking, problem-solving and character development. Invite your student(s) to pick a project that interests them to work on for a day or a week. Encourage them to share their plans, products or performances with the Portals community so we can all celebrate and grow together.
Week 6 - Biblical Self-Image
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
Express your True Identity
While they say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, people do often express themselves through appearances and items like clothes, accessories, posters, stickers, mascots and flags. How do the people around you mainly express their identity? Pick one identity expressing item and design your own version that expresses your home/school’s values and identity in Christ.
Signature Stamp (Ideas)
Design and hand make your own signature stamp that you can stamp on your papers and projects. It might be by your name, your initials, an image, etc.
Who am I? (Slides)
Challenge: Using Google slides and transparent images, design a virtual room for a well-known person (Biblical, historical, character) and see if the audience can guess who you picked from the way you represented them. No direct references to the person (i.e. anything with their name on it in the room).
Materials: Device with Google slides, transparent images or house décor magazines and scissors.
All the Same
I have 6 white kittens who lost their mother and need to be bottle fed. How can I identify which one is which so they all get fed enough?
We Come in Peace!
Imagine you are an explorer and you have discovered a new land. After some initial confusion, you find the natives friendly. Record a reenactment or draw a cartoon showing how you were finally able to communicate that you come in peace. It can be as realistic or fantastical as you want.
