Welcome to Portals Projects! Each week we share projects that foster community building, creative thinking, problem-solving and character development. Invite your student(s) to pick a project that interests them to work on for a day or a week. Encourage them to share their plans, products or performances with the Portals community so we can all celebrate and grow together.
Week 19 - God’s Word
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Memory Moves
Pick a verse you want to memorize and choreograph a dance to help yourself and others remember it.
Bible Club
Write and present a proposal for your own Bible club. If you enjoy competition, consider forming a Bible quiz team. If you enjoy acting, form a Bible Story troop and write your own Bible skits to perform. If you are an artist, propose a club that makes visual representations of Bible stories and concepts through different mediums and curates a Bible gallery. If you are passionate about sharing God’s word, form a non-profit or partner with an existing ministry that distributes Bibles or works on translating them.
Picture it (Destination Imagination)
Challenge: Each person or group chooses a favorite book or Bible story they’ve read this year. (Do not share your idea with other family and friends who are participating.) After selecting a book, design and build a 3-D scene from your chosen story using a variety of materials.
Your structure must include at least one special feature. The special feature must be created and/or operated using at least one STEM principle. This includes, but is not limited to, principles in fields such as chemistry, computer science, software engineering, electricity, hydraulics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics, and structural engineering. Other STEM principles are also acceptable.
Forbidden Faith
My sister in Christ is going to a country where distributing Bibles is forbidden. How can she get God’s word into the hands of people who are desperate to know for themselves what God has said?
Hello Friend!
